Beta Readers
What is a beta reader?
A beta reader is a proof checker. They help you to improve your story before or after you submit your story to the archive. They can check anything from punctuation and English to your storyline and canon errors! They generally help your story to be the best it can!
Do I need a beta reader?
You may submit your story to Hogwarts Library with or without the help of a beta reader, however, it is recommended for you, as it will boost reader numbers and good reviews. If your story is not accepted into the Library, it is probably a good idea to seek out a beta reader to help you.
Where do I find a beat reader?
You can find a beta reader at an external site called Perfect Imagination, where they have a lot of qualified beta readers who have undergone a test to prove they are worthy. There are also a lot more beta reader 'archives' which can be found in the Links page of the site.
Can I become a beta reader?
If you want to become a beta reader, please go to Perfect Imagination where they have their own tests. Unless we decide to make our own test, we will not be "qualifying" beta readers.
For qualified beta readers
For those of you that are already beta readers, there is a box in your profile in which you can state whether you are a beta reader. Please only tick this box if you are a qualified beta reader! By displaying that you are a beta reader, it will advertise to people that you are open for betaing so please only tick it if you are available.
